The calibrating procedure is automatically controlled by a computer. The system is used to measure the frequency and amplitude of a standard reference accelerometer and the sensor to be calibrated. The sensor’s frequency response curve and sensitivity is thus calibrated by comparison of the different measurements (the so-called back-to-back method).
The system can be used in research institutions, laboratories of vibration research, and for the design and production of sensors.
The system can also calibrate the sensitivity and frequency response curve of velocity sensors. Velocity sensors are widely used in petroleum exploration, for monitoring machine vibrations in the laboratories, etc.
